Mask Mandate for Transit extended to May 3
The CDC has extended the federal face mask mandate for airports, planes and public transit to May 3 2022.
Set up Clipper Card on your Mobile Device
You can now use your phone instead of a plastic Clipper Card to use BART:
- Use your phone at the fare gate instead of the plastic Clipper card
- Add funds to your Clipper account (whether you’re using a Clipper Card or your phone).
- Funds are available for immediate use.
- Download the free app from google play or apple
BART adds e-scooters to Trip Planner
- Real time scooter locations will show on the Trip Planner
- Includes Spin , LINK , or HOPR scooters
- In some cases, the estimated cost of the scooter rental will be included in the itinerary and results include direct links to book the scooter (when using BART’s official app)
- Shared electric scooters are not allowed inside BART stations or on BART trains (BART customers can bring their own personal folding electric kick-scooters on BART)

BART is back to full service.
Regular Service has Returned to BART
- BART has restored service frequency.
- Extended service to midnight on Sundays starting February 14, 2022,
- Face masks required through at least April 18, 2022, including for those fully vaccinated.

Powell Street & Embarcadero BART Stations
Powell Street Station’s two public restrooms will reopen 2/2/22.
New fare gate at the Embarcadero platform elevator gives riders the ability to tag out with Clipper at the platform instead of the concourse.
Omicron Surge Impact on MUNI Routes and Schedules
Staff shortages due to the Omicron Covid-19 variant surge is causing some delays.
According to MUNI: “Currently, we are missing up to 15% of scheduled Muni service, which means that riders may need to wait longer than usual for their bus or train. ”
