APEC Conference November 13-19 Detours

San Francisco is hosting the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference November 11 – 19. More than 20,000 people are expected to attend. More info

Streets and freeway ramps around the Moscone Center will be closed from Monday, November 13 through Sunday, November 19. View closure map

  • Closures will result in significant traffic impacts.
  • Due to high security some areas in SoMa will be closed to vehicle, transit, and bicycle through-traffic.
  • People will be allowed into security zones to access their homes, work, make deliveries and shop with appropriate screening.
  • All other traffic will be redirected around the security zones including vehicles and people walking and bicycling.

How to Get to Chase Center, Mission Bay During APEC

  • T Third and K Ingleside Muni Metro stops from Balboa Park to Embarcadero to Sunnydale will be served by a temporary KT Ingleside-Third Muni Metro including UCSF/Chase Center. This includes Embarcadero at Folsom and Brannan, and King at 2nd and 4th streets. Riders should look for train head signs that indicate the K Ingleside westbound, T Third eastbound, or KT Ingleside-Third.
  • There will be no Muni Metro service provided to 4th & Brannan or Yerba Buena-Moscone Stations.

Market Street Detours Oct 14-28th

In order to allow San Francisco Department of Public Works construction crews to work around and beneath the muni rail lines, Market Street from 5th Street to 8th Street will be closed to all above ground vehicles from October 14th, through October 28th.
 
MB Shuttle East and West Route Temporary Detours:
-Civic Center @7th (Yotel) stop will move to Mission and 7th.
-Powell @22 4th stop will move to Mission and 4th.

New BikeLink app for easy bike parking at BART Stations

The new BikeLink mobile app can be used instead of a pre-paid BikeLink card to access and pay for elockers:

  • The app lets users put time on the meter and open the door to park their bike inside.
  • BikeLink cards will continue to work.
  • New users can start with a minimum of $5 on their BikeLink account.
  • (BikeLink card balance and the BikeLink app balance are not connected.)
  • elockers are available at 40 BART stations

Central Subway Opens 11/19

San Francisco’s new Central Subway is opening soon, connecting communities between Chinatown and the Bayview:

Special Weekend Service starts Saturday, November 19, 2022. Trains will run every 12 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays only, from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m.

Service runs between four new Central Subway stations:

  • Chinatown-Rose Pak Station
  • Union Square/Market Street Station
  • Yerba Buena Moscone Station
  • 4th and Brannan

SFMTA ambassadors will provide wayfinding guidance virtually and in-person. More Info

New T Third Service from Chinatown-Rose Pak to Sunnydale is planned to start in January via Central Subway.
