2012 construction projects

Construction will begin or is already underway on several projects in Mission Bay:

• HOUSING.
  Construction of 329 condominiums at The Madrone (corner of 3rd and China Basin) will be complete by the end of 2012.
  Construction of two affordable housing projects with a total of 260 rental units (Mercy Housing) between China Basin and Channel on 4th and Longbridge Streets will begin in late 2012/early 2013.
   
• SALESFORCE.
  Construction of the first four buildings that will comprise the new Salesforce campus at Mission Bay will begin mid-to-late 2012.  These buildings will be located between Third and Terry Francois; South Street and 16th Street.
   
• UCSF HOSPITALS AT MISSION BAY.
  Construction continues on the Womens, Children and Cancer hospitals currently under construction between 16th & Mariposa; Third and Owens streets.  These facilities are expected to open in 2016.
   

STREET CONSTRUCTION IN AND AROUND MISSION BAY.
In addition to utilities, street and sidewalk infrastructure in connection with the above projects, the following projects will also impact Mission Bay:

• New electrical systems, poles, variable message signs, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks on 8th Street; Howard Street; Hawthorne; Folsom; 7th; Third; King and Kearney Streets.  Construction hours are 8am to 4pm on weekdays. Some street closures are expected; notices will be posted 72 hours in advance.  For more information, contact the Dept of Public Works at 415-437-7038.
