Mission Bay is easily accessible by Caltrain, which operates commuter rail service between San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.  

 Caltrain Station at Fourth & King St

Over 70 weekday trains to and from the Peninsula.  The Mission Bay shuttle is timed to coordinate with incoming trains in the morning; with departing trains in the evening.  Caltrain has reduced service on weekends and provides service to baseball games and other special events at AT&T Park.
